- Threshold drains are ideal when:
- A resident has mobility limitations (providing level access).

- Weather protection is needed to keep rain out when driven toward the house.
- A threshold drain is a drainage system that:
- Aligns with the door or window sill.
- Sits level with both inside and outside surfaces.
- Catches water driven towards the building by wind or rain.
The recommended tray depth for threshold drains is 23-53mm. It's crucial for the drain to be within this range, as an effective performance can't be guaranteed for anything outside of it. An appropriate depth ensures that water will collect and move at a suitable speed without overflowing.
